Hi, I'm Jose Montilla. These headshots were in black and white and about 8 months old. I'm gonna go get new ones in two weeks but I wanna see the opinion on these two

They are bad. Really bad. So many shadows, bad lighting, bad angles, the cropping- everything.

Jose, here is my 2cents.
The first shot is ok, except you are too close to the background. It casts shadows, not good. Second, you need some makeup, man, your forehead....
The second shot I think would be better if your shoulders were angled and your face was straight on to the camera. Plus, too much headroom. It needs to be cropped. Meaning too much space between your head and the top of the photo.

i kinda hated the first cuz of that reason...and the cguy applied makeup but just to my face. I don't understand the shadows thing cuz I don't see shadows in the picture....I think i can get my friend to work on the lighting

Ok, but whatever you're leaning on looks like a shadow and is distracting.

These look like they were taken by Jerry Zalas (Actors Rep).

You need to get color headshots ... they are the industry standard. CD's will think your B/W photos are really old (even if they are not), or that you don't care enough about your career to keep up with what is expected of professional actors.

These shots are also very poorly lit.

You have a nice smile and should be able to get great shots.
