Hello Backstagers!

Firstly, I just wanted to say that I lurked the boards for a few days and I like the community here. It seems very helpful and I hope to get a lot of good advice during my stay.

Secondly, just to give a bit of background, I am 18 years old and am just beginning my acting career (professionally, anyway). These headshots are from my first ever attempt at getting headshots done, so bear with me in that regard.

Any advice, suggestions, critique, or praise that you may have is appreciated

Thanks again!

You are totally adorable.
The shots are alright, but I think you could do better with a more modern shoot.

These look a little washed out.
And there's no need to wash out a headshot with a face like yours.

Thanks =]

Just out of curiosity though, what would you consider to be a more modern shoot?

And I do agree with them being a bit washed out, at least in the first pic.

TJ, You have a good look and I really like the 2nd and 3rd shot....being washed out can be taken care of by a decent retoucher or at the very least, your photographer if you ask.

I'm not speaking on FaithLove's behalf, but I'm guessing she might mean, do you have anything that's not a stark white background? You can use these but you will want some shots with more versatility and that will pop in online web galleries.

Couldn't one Photoshop a different color background in? (I have no idea, just asking!)

I like your look - you're cute and connect well with the camera!

Yes, one could do that.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll definitely try to mix up the backgrounds a bit more next time I get shots done.

I like that last shot but I agree that plain white backgrounds are out...

Get with a photographer who will take you outside for some natural light and "normal cityscape" backgrounds. It will do wonders for you.

That said you are a young dude with a normal look. Real headshots will send you on your way fine my man. good luck!
