Hi, there. If you are going to go have photos reproduced for agent submissions, you will want to go ahead and do 8x10s. It doesn't make sense to go out and get 5x7s printed because they are not the industry standard. However, if you already have 5x7s that are printed, and they still look like the child, you could go ahead and use the 5x7s until they are gone, and then upgrade to 8x10s. Snapshots of 4x6 are also acceptable, but if you have the funds you can easily get a set of shots taken and printed for under $500 total. If your child is dreaming of an acting career, you can certainly get started now with appropriate marketing materials. Bravo to you for asking on these message boards- there are so many scammers out there so it is great that you are investigating the options. Best of luck!

For kids, snapshots are perfectly acceptable. 4x6 or 5x7...whichever one you have is fine. Just make sure that the pictures are clear, decently lit and that you can see their entire face very well. A few different photos with different expressions would be good. Don't spend money on pro headshots for agent submission. They agents do not expect it and, if you get signed, they will likely ask you to get new headshots that conform with their particular agency's style.
