Take off: -Warnerphoto.com-Doesn't do headshots. She's a portrait photographer. -Jeffsingerheadshots.com-Headshots aren't very good. They're all a dull shade. -Sophiafield.com-Too artsy for headshots.
Actually, Jeff Singer and Sophia Field were my two favorites. I actually like the even light on Jeff's (which is what I think you mean by dull shade). I like Sophia's as well, but her photos seem overly retouched.

Sophia crops way too closely and do you really want her silly signature on your photos? She also doesn't have a very diverse portfolio. It's mostly White women.
The Jeff's style of lighting is terrible. It's dull and flat and doesn't make people pop and get someone's attention.

Of your choices, Hawkey is the best. She actually shoots in LA, however.
And I don't get why Kurtyphotography still has black and whites in the headshot gallery. Black and white is DEAD. I hope he doesn't stil do black and whites.

Hmm, to each his own I guess... I actually think Jeff's photos make the eyes pop. When you click on the image and view the large version the eyes are what really stand out to me.
And I would guess (although I can't confirm) that Sophia removes her watermark on the final image.
Oh, I didn't realize Hawkey was not the bay area. She came up in a bay area search.
Thanks for the feedback. Do you know of other photographers in the bay area that you like?
