Okay so I was going to reply to a post made by Robert Kim on someones photo about their hair being regarded to as from the 80's or something haha, but thought I could get better input by making a new post.
I have a question regarding your comment on hairstyles and am not trying to start an argument in any way ( I thoroughly respect your input and you clearly have much more experience than I do), but would it be better to have a hairstyle that is a bit longer, but stylish or a hairstyle the is short and not distracting in any way?
I have seen almost every actor around my age group, 15-20 and up, have more of a longer style than traditional and am always confused on what to do. The main theought that goes through my head is; If someone wants you, but your hair is too long they'll tell you to get something done with it, or if its right then they don't need to wait a month plus for you to grow it out. I thank any comments in advance
p.s. Does anyone else feel that it may be the trend at the moment? Mitchel Musso Zac Efron Ashton Kutcher I am actually surprised that I can not think of others right now, maybe I am wrong lol.

Yes, Tom. Longer hair is in. But, as pointed out by Robert, not to the point that it is flipping up. Your hair in those shots was too long. It needs to be sculpted and LAYERED. See a hair stylist. Really. My 14yo son is in the same situation. He has longer hair, but it is done by his stylist. I made the mistake of taking him to a barber!!! Boy, did I get yelled at. Long, but not unkept and layered.... Your director will let you know if he/she needs it cut. (It grows back) Once you get established then you can try for the wild hair look, but not starting out. Good luck, GT

Hair styles, like wardrobe selection, are a totally personal thing.
Like anything else, fashion and hair trends come and go. That's why I always recommend refraining from shooting in extreme clothes or hair styles that are so trendy that they will soon become out of style just as quickly.
Some actors, like George Clooney for example, created short hair styles that revolutionized hair cuts for men, just as Ashton Kutcher brought back long hair from his appearance in "That 70's Show." Both long and short styles have their place. But when considering hair styles, just be sure of two things. First, that your hair style actually suits you (we can't all look like Clooney or Kutcher), and whichever style you choose, that it's done by a qualified professional who knows what they're doing.

Haha thats fine I still learned a lot from your post, thanks for the advice. I could really benefit from looking into this hair stylist deal instead of the average barber.

Robert Kim, I can more clearly see what you are trying to say now, and personally I 100% agree. I never wear clothes unless their me, regardless of styles that are in or not, and I find hairstyles that are more positive than negative for the lifestyle that I'm living. For example right now were in the football season and we are undefeated and most likely will head into the playoffs, so I'll probably shave my head and let it grow out after the season is over. Thanks for the comment and I now actually get what you were trying to say to that kid in the photos. Till next time!
