Okay, here goes:

I'm a Voice Over actor, and film editor, who is now focused on acting on-camera.

I have some weak headshots, but I need a new set, and I am looking for a photographer.

I want to do a shoot with 3 looks at least, and two to three difference backgrounds. (one dark, one generic, and one bright and colorful).

But out of my price range this month (maybe next summer). I want to get new shots soon.



1) Digital shoot.

2) I want all shots as RAW transfered to my hard drive.

3) I will do my own retouching (as an experienced VFX artist, this is a no brainer for me).

4) I need at least 3 looks during the shoot.

5) I want a photographer that isn't afraid to squeeze the trigger! My last few photographers were PAINFULLY slow to shoot - I don't want to hold a pose, feeling or look for an eternity. I prefer "motor drive" style shooting, or at least snapping quick.

6) I am in Hollywood, so I'm looking for someone in LA.

Yes, I had read your other post.

Many photographers will NOT release the full resolution images.

For instance, this guy "Denny Kwan"

Will only release images that his company has retouched at full res. He supplies a CD, but they are all LOW res jpegs. And I know other photogs that won't release negs.

BS I say. I paid for them, I'm taking them.

A CD of downsampled images will not cut it - I want full res in RAW, or TIFF at the worst.

And how do you mean that Bjoern is "too artsy"? Have you seen his headshot dedicated page and not the "models" pages?

Also, are you an actor or a casting director?

I saw Bjoern's "headshots." They're way too touched up and modely. He's NOT worth it for how much he charges.

I'm an actor, I have worked for some CDs, and have interviewed some of the top CDs and agents about the subject of headshots. So I have a much better understanding of both ends than most people.
