Hey Freddy! I like this one much better than the last one Smiler Great smile. My main concern is the light, pretty blown out in some spots but hopefully that can be saved in post, for printing.

That catch-light issue is a pet-peeve but for a simple headshot, why not? Now THIS one can actually qualify as a headshot and not just a passport photo.

Good luck! Smiler

I vastly prefer your theatrical headshot to this one. Technique-wise, it is superior to this headshot in every conceivable way.

As much as I like your smile, very little can be done that will dramatically improve the over-exposed skin tones of this shot. Worse still, it appears to be severely out-of-focus.

But the first thing you need to do is completely ELIMINATE the bright orange background! Whatever positive things that can be said about this headshot pale in comparison to this glaring problem.

If you need a good example of a more appropriate background, simply refer to the theatrical headshot you originally provided.

Wow, just wow.

I think Robert and I were born evil twins, separated at birth and destined to find each other again as polar opposites in the same craft.

Anyway, those hot spots can be fixed and so can the very minor soft issue regarding focus. As for the orange bg, it pops you out and is far superior to the drabness of that stale concrete in your other passport photo.

In this shot, as a CD I know exactly what I'm getting, a young, good looking Filipino kid with a small physique and great smile. I'm not saying this headshot is fantastic, but it's much stronger than the passport shot for a vast number of reasons I've already explored.

Good luck! Smiler

"Evil twins"?

Speak for yourself.

You recently suggested a "truce." Rather than address me personally, if you simply address the topic at hand, it will accomplish the exact, same goal. Agreed?

You look so cute! You know what I get from this photo? The fashion-obsessed, very gay roommate. Don't be mad- you look great. This could work for sitcoms too. I just don't like the light reflecting off your cheeks. If that could be toned down, I would love to see it.

Of course it could be better shot. But if he is broke, this certainly won't hurt him in the meantime til he can get new ones.

""I'm not afraid to die on a treadmill. I will not be outworked. You may be more talented than me. You might be smarter than me. And you may be better looking than me. But if we get on a treadmill together you are going to get off first or I'm going to die. It's really that simple. I'm not going to be outworked." -Will Smith

Just trying to keep it light, Robert, sheesh.

As you can see below, the hot spots can be removed and the shot can be sharpened. I did this in under two minutes. I bet someone who takes the time with your RAW file could produce much better results and actually salvage this image.

Good luck! Smiler

Further Photoshopping will only worsen the problem, Freddy.

It's your call, I'm out.

Not if you have the RAW file, you can do wonders with it in the right hands. It's a new era in post work. Just be sure he's got CS4 (or even CS2 or NX2) and you'll be amazed how clean it can be fixed.
