Hey all. I've been active on this board for a few days and really have enjoyed reading all of your discussions and learning about everything you have to share.
I figured I'd go ahead and post some headshots to see what everybody thought.
Biggest thing to keep in mind: the last time I had headshots taken it was 2002 and color shots were still very much a baby.
I basically had stayed in a safety zone when it came to pictures; simple straight shot with a basic background in glorious black & white.
Now it's 2009; I've been in college for 4 years and decided to take another approach at my style. Primarily, these are the shots I'll be using to resurrect my career and show the new identity I've acquired after going to school and getting better at my craft. Hopefully it will be the right image I'm trying to convey.
Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks for looking. Let me know what you think.

I agree with Robert's comments and I might add that the first one has a bit too much of your head cropped off. It may make the viewer wonder about your hairline.
If you wanted to you could probably have a retoucher cut out the top of your head on #2 to give you that missing space on pic #1. Shouldn't be too tricky since the lighting is the same.
3 is a little weird for me. With the hand and deep shadows and everything. Don't use that one.
4 is also nice but, yes, should be used for modeling only as stated by Robert.
Honestly, I wouldn't use any of these. You're expression is forced in the first three and the last one is a modeling shot (I'd use it for a modeling portfolio, not as a headshot). I'd suggest to relax in front of the camera and do not try to portray anything specific, just talk to the camera with your eyes and tell a secret. Good luck!

The first two I couldn't help but see the emphasis on your eyes. However, the rest of you is blurred or smoothed out. Smells of a major airbrushing job, so now I wonder how many wrinkles, lines or spots you have on your face that you're trying to hide. The last two pics which are unusable, have you at a side profile angle so I don't see your whole face. Not a good sign. Again, like you have something to hide. Just my two cents.
