I would choose photos 1 and 5. In the third and fourth photos you blend into the background a little too much. Generally jewelry, prints, and designs don't bother me too much, but having "BEAUTY" emblazoned on your chest is a bit a distracting... :-) Good luck!

Hello All,
Thanks for the feedback, it's been really helpful! I had to remove a few pictures because they were using up bandwidth, but left the two most favored ones and put up one more that didn't have a logo...[sorry if the original post is confusing, the board won't let me go in to edit it!]
The photographer did advise me that the white shirt and some of the blue logo on the black would have to be photoshopped out if I were to use it for acting, which I could totally do. You see, originally, I had done these shots for music promo photos but I also wanted to try to bridge the gap to use them for acting headshot photos. So I'm learning (which is good!) that they are two completely different things... Here's what I also asked on another feedback board:
"The question I have is, this is me though. I have hair that falls into my eyes and the jagged edge shirt is something I wear often and fits my 'artsy friend' type. Is that still something I should avoid? I don't want to appear sloppy but it's definitely ME... just learning about the relationship between great headshot vs./= strong representation of me and my type."
Justine: thnx for your opinion, will probably use #1 with logo shopped out
Dennis: thanks for the photographer's point of view! yeah, the "beauty" is a bit assumptive as I'm not the "beauty type", lol. but I loved the other grunge graphics on the shirt. I actually used this photo in a music promo and blurred out the lettering.. it really helped..
Valerie- thanks for the kind words and encouragement.
Sag- thanks for your feedback as well. The print photos don't have be blending into the background as much as the digital scans, and the artsy side of me likes the mystery of me blending a bit and my face jumping out, but I can totally understand how it might not highlight me ideally...
Thanks all!

Anniesheart, You sound like a very nice person, with a lot of energy and enthusiasm for what you're doing. If you normally have hair that falls in your eyes ... and you will walk into an audition room with hair that falls in your eyes ... then there is nothing wrong with having a headshot where your hair is in your eyes (especially these, where it looks fine!). The most important thing is to submit headhsots that really do look like you ... not some glammed up version of you. In my work as an indie film director, I find that there is nothing more frustrating than finding an actor who looks perfect for a role, who, when called in for an audition, walks in the room looking like a completely different person from their headshot! Obviously, I don't know what you look like in person, but I wouldn't worry about the hair ... I think you are going to do just fine with these shots ... as you say, you want to express your individuality and that is exactly right! Good luck to you. Best, Ron

Thanks Ron! Is it kind of obvious I'm from the East Coast? I took a look at your website, very impressive! The site, and your work... quote: Originally posted by Ron Brown Photography: Anniesheart,

For some reason, I can't see 2 and 4, but of those that show, I prefer 1 and 5. As others have said, your personality is bursting off the page -- that's fantastic Good luck!
