Here we go. She wanted some examples to look at for her next shoot. Good examples WOULD be uh, other people that look like her. Point in question, not may have posted that have her type of complexion. Different skintones photograph differently. It would be good to show her examples of those similar to her but not may have posted, As Truthteller pointed out. It was SO not intended any other way.

LOL Miss Stone,I'm just asking because that has nothing to do with composition, clothing choices, facial expression etc. A lot can be learned from looking at ANY great headshots so just wondering what the original poster meant by that. That's all

I'm by no means racist and had no such intention of sounding that way. Some photographers are better at photographing other ethnicities than others. Say a person who photographs Asians well is presented as an example. That photographer might not necessarily be the best at photographing black people, etc. I've seen a lot of fellow actors make mistakes in choosing photographer because their friend who looked different than him or her did a good job and assume that the photographer will be good for him or her. I do believe one of the components of getting a good headshot does depend on the photographer you choose.

Nobody said anything about being racist. And yes of course when picking the photographer who is actually going to take the photos it makes sense to want to see others he has photographed who have the same skin tone. But I took the posters question as a general one, what does a good headshot look like. But it is so not a big deal.
