I searched for an answer and I couldn't find it-- very sorry if this has already been covered. Am I supposed to list that I have a tattoo on my resume? It's on my stomach and easily hidden.
I did get a chance to read some threads about tattoos for actors, however, and I never knew it was so controversial! Very interesting, though I'm not trying to rehash any of that. It's really interesting to get different people's perspectives. I think one person wrote that they were a "traditional girl" so that's why they didn't get a tattoo, which I thought was funny because that's exactly why I got a tattoo, but then again I'm Native Hawaiian. So, I guess the idea of a traditional girl varies based on your tradition. I'm assuming that that thread had nothing to do with indigenous tattoos, though.
Thanks for your guidance.

Was it the Angelina Jolie comments? In the most beautiful women thread.
Oh and I think it will do more harm than not, to list the tattoo. People assume things based on stereotypes, get the role first, prove them who you are.
Personally, I think your resume is about you, your personality and basically what makes you unique. If you feel that your tattoo represents a big part of your identity (or it takes a great part of your body), then you might want to mention it. But generally, it's better to include other details and only inform them as you get your roles. I'm sure they are more than interested to know about your interesting experience and personality. Hope your resumes stands out!
