New shots done by a photog friend. Have already gotten some attention from a couple casting directors. A handfull of unretouched shots are at www.myspace.com/7chordwonder I'd appreciate your constructive comments. I have said my age range is "45-55". One working friend said "45 and up" is better. As far as type, some directors have me as detective, retired football player, father next door, latin/italian/middle eastern character. What are your thoughts and how much should the shots be photoshopped/retouched? I have worked hard for these wrinkles and dark circles! I want to look like my pics when I go to a reading. How much retouching is acceptable?
Nothing happens until somebody gets enthusiastic.

This photograph is more suited for modeling submissions.
I base this observation primarily on your POSE. The "jacket slung over the shoulder" look should be reserved primarily for print work.
I agree fully with your choice of representative roles, but I'd refrain from using too much retouching on this headshot as your appearance is appropriate to your age range.
im not a professional, but i agree with Robert. The pic is too commercial, because of the pose and the jacket. You should go for something more natural and relaxed.
also, the LAST thing you want is to have a photo thats retouched to the point that it doesnt look like you. You dont want to hide anything in a photo that cant be hidden in real life. (like, removing a zit, ok! making yourself look 10 years younger, not ok!) When you walk into a CDs office, they will not be happy if they dont get in real life what they got on the photo.

A guy your age shouldn't be retouching his pictures. You're a character actor and all those little lines and imperfections make you more castable. So embrace them!
I totally agree about the whole "Frank Sinatra - jacket over the shoulder look" but that said, I like the picture and I'm sure there are others you can use from the same shoot.
