Hi, I'm 26 years old and I've been in and out of the acting world all of my life. I've recently started up again and this time, I'm committing to it whole heartedly as this is all I've ever wanted to do with my life. I had headshots taken back in 2004 and I haven't really changed much since then (my hair is maybe a bit longer but not much). I also recently got married and my original headshots were in black and white and had my maiden name in the corner. Well, now I want to get them in color and without my name on the front. I have my four favorites (two of which are the original ones that I have been using since 2004). I can't decide which ones look best so I wanted other points of view other than mine. Or do you think it is time for new headshots? I'm uncertain if I really need new ones but I don't know. Four years is a long time but like I said, I pretty much haven't changed. I greatly appreciate it! Smiler

Hi Liz, I wouldn't get them done over unless you look really different. A moderate change in hair length is unimportant. Personally I like the one on the left (in the grey top, with the natural-looking smile) but they are all good.

I wouldn't worry about changing them. If they look like you cuz they look modern. I think the first and the third are great. The first is a younger look and the third makes you look a little older. Good luck!

Cute pics. I like #1 and also #4 (the one on the bottom).

Only thing with #1 is you might want to see if you can crop or re-touch #1 so the writing on the shirt doesn't show. (Some might find that distracting.) But it's a good pic.

I like the 3rd pic for commercial and the last one for theatrical. I like both of those more than your Avatar, as they seem to have an extra spark.

You should ALWAYS print your name on the front. Pick a name, stick with it, get it OUT there and in everyone's mind ASAP. That starts with the moment they pick up your photo. It is your BRAND. It is how you market yourself. Look around town and see how many PROFESSIONAL headshots have no name on them. NONE... This is not an opinion- this is how it is done...

So, I decided to get new headshots afterall. I decided that four years was a long time and even though I look the same I thought it might be time for a change. And I'm glad that I did. There were 0ver 500 shots to choose from and I narrowed it down to 20 of my favorites. I'd love some feedback. Thanks so much for your response!

Wow, you haven't changed much! My personal favorites are 3, 11, and 17. Just an opinion, I'm not a professional :P
