Hi Star, You're an attractive young lady but unfortunately this headshot is way out of date on several levels. It's also a glamor headshot, not an acting headshot. If you want to be competitive in the current market with other actors fighting for the same job, you'll need up to date headshots. Have them taken by a professional headshot photographer that understands 21st century standards. This may sound critical but it's important you get the best out of your headshot session, and this will not work by current standards. Good luck

This is a very pretty shot, taken by either a glamor or fashion-oriented professional for the Florida market. While technically proficient, your photographer simply didn't realize your goals or what is appropriate for acting submissions. I disagree that you look "angry." This is obviously an good attempt at model attitude or "pouty aloofness," as I call it. For this type of look it is appropriate, and it's obvious by the degree of proficiency shown here that this photographer would certainly know the difference. The next time you shoot, just make sure that your photographer specializes at taking headshots for working actors, and perhaps request something a little more age-appropriate. I sense that beneath the facade there may be an ingenue hiding. www.robertkim.com http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0453647/

I am sure you are lovely. That said, burn this photo.

In an attempt to bring a degree of constructive advice to this board, I try to EDUCATE, not ESCALATE. It is extremely important to first determine the GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION of the poster before criticizing their photos! Notice that this young lady is from Florida. This is not a "bad" photo, nor is it unattractive in any way. It is merely inappropriate for her needs. In Boca Raton, this could easily be the beauty standard, just as beauty pageant headshots have the same, identical look. If you examine a typical beauty contestant headshot, they seem incredibly overdone and "old-fashioned" by today's acting standards, but not by the standard of which pageant headshots are judged. Before you jump to harshly on what's posted her, always read the location of the poster, first. Headshots in Europe are still in black-and-white. Would you call them "Not up to date"? Not in Europe. Try to understand the market demands of the poster before voicing too hasty or critical an answer. www.robertkim.com http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0453647/

I thought I saw the cover of Cosmopolitan 1979; Spring Edition. You're pretty, but this looks dated (the actual quality of the headshot), modeling, unusable.

Agreed. But I don't just dislike it for a headshot- I dislike it PERIOD. The lips look disfigured, the way the makeup has been applied. Not a good look for ANY photo. I also think it's very dated. Not just for a headshot, for ANY type of photo. It looks very 70's and I can't think of any state or any field where it would be usable. That is why I made the comment. And you know me, I get to the point quickly. It saves a LOT of time and back and forth posting. So to the OP, there is nothing wrong with you- just the photo.
