Here are several headshots. Which is best for LA please? Not sure if I can post more than one at a time here. If not please give feedback on this one.

The half-smile doesn't really do anything for me...

It's NOT right for someone to recommend photographers for you. What might rock for me might suck for YOU.

YOU need to find the right one for you. Go through sites like http://reproductions.com and find photographers that photograph people like you well. By people like you, I mean ethnicity, hair color, eye color, skin tone, age range, physical build, etc.

Pick your Top 5 and meet with ALL of them to get their personalities and philosophies. If you're not gelling over coffee, then you're probably NOT going to gel during the session.

I'll combine your two shots you asked for opinions on into one post for ya.

...Neither of these shots really work for me.

Your eyes look kind of disconnected and everything about the shot is a little dull...I agree that the half-smile/grin is kind of uncommitted to any particular expression or energy.

I think you look better in the top one...but neither are very striking to me.

Why would you go to a photographer that an agent recommended when this photographer clearly does NOT work for you?

I bet your agent got a kickback for sending you.

Yes I hear ya. But I just got started in the Dallas market in Jan and as my agent is trying to sell me thought I should trust his instinct on what sells. However when he showed me this photographer I did not think much of his work. Hard to know what I am suppose to be going for.

I agree with Dennis. Artistsheperd, I think you might as well wait 'til you go to LA and get your headshots done then?

Put some $ aside and after you get there, have a new shoot.

I love the second picture picture the most. It looks charismatic. I could see you in a doctor's or lawyer's role. You look very relaxed in the last one. Those blue eyes come out really well in the first three pictures. These pictures are okay but not extremely good. All the best!
