On your resume,

DON'T:
-list printwork
-list your home phone number. Some weirdo can google it and use it to trace you to your home.
-List your age range
-Put Ethnicity
-put "James Pollock- Rough, Sensitive, Sociopath, funny-and loves to dance."
-list your weight unless your agent tells you to do so
-put willing to work for pay, or male or female

DO:
-List your specific height generally at the top left under your name.
-Put your union affiliation at the top under your name which should be the biggest and at the top and centered.

For the standard proper format for an acting resume, go to Actors Access, Now Casting, and LA/NY Casting to see how the format is. It's always a three column deal with Film, TV. amd theatre.

Ditto!!! And I would like to see you sitting more naturally. This just doe not quite hit the mark for me. It is not bad, mind you. I just also find the shirt a little dated too and I am never fond of people shooting whilst wearing white as it can wash you out. I would like to see you outside and smiling.

I'm not really good at this but I think you should put the "James Pollock- rough, sensitive..." part in different wording and in your cover letter. Don't remove the love to dance part, though. :-)
I am also a NJ based NY actor/actress, although I look a bit different. (Female, 10-12, short....).

I think this is bad advice. If you read "An Agent Tells All" Tony Martinez talks about one of his pet peeves... actors who pitch themselves. Agents feel that is their job and they are much better at it. Smiler

I did not consider that. Very good point.
However, some agents may like that and some may not.
Told you I am not good at it. :-)

You really don't know which particular agent likes those stupid pitch things, so don't do it period. And the fact that he's listed dancing skills in special skills would make the stupid pitch redundant. He wouldn't still be dancing if he didn't enjoy it.

You want to focus on letting the agent get to know you so they can decide for themself how best to pitch you. Get a clear understanding of what your goals are as an actor and when you feel you are at your best as a performer. That way you can communicate it effectively.

I like the shot. Posture might be a bit funny, but your expression is excellent. Looks like you could convey a lot of emotion as well as be an individual who spends a great deal of time thinking. I like it. Putting your contact information is good on a resume but I would remove it from forums. Like this one.
