i don't normally go completely against anyone, but i did a mail order with Isgo about 3 years ago, and can say, without question, that I am vehemently against Isgo.
i received an order of several hundred completely unusable headshots, with white ink blotches ALL over the photos, and not in the same place(s) that would indicate that maybe there was something wrong with the digital image or maybe an ink cartridge in the machine. no, they were in all random places all over ALL of the repros. not one was usable. and it wasn't ON the shot (like, water had sprinkled on them, it was IN the shot). it was the most bizarre looking thing I had ever seen in reproductions.
when i called to complain, and asked for a refund, i got terrible customer service in response. i believe i did finally get a second order shipped to me, but they weren't even done on white paper, so the colors were all off. i guess they used off white paper? i dunno... it was weird. i still have some of them, and i can pick out the repros from that order without giving them a second look. i should toss them, but i dont. dunno why.
i can't remember how it all ended, but i know i went to modernage (in NYC) and got the same shots printed there, and they were beautiful, flawless.
so i would strongly suggest RUNNING from Isgo.
that said, i used reproductions in NYC for a while. but then they got expensive, so i used modernage. out here, i would also suggest reproductions or argentum.
i don't see how paper type would effect "notes", since they aren't going to be writing over your face. they'll either write on your resume which should be glued or stapled to the back of your headshot or in a notebook, or whatever they are taking notes on. they won't be writing on your face, so that shou;dn't effect what paper you use.
personally, i do litho because i can afford them. some people swear by photo. it's completely up to you. personal preference according to your budget.
again, for borders, it's all personal preference. i always go with a white border black line because personally, i don't like full bleeds. but some people do. in fact, some people do black borders instead of white. on some pictures, it can work. som epeople think bleeds are old school, but again, it's personal preference. what do YOU want? pick a repro center and ask to look through their book to see their different styles. you can just walk in to any of their businesses, no appointment needed.
as for name, again, personally, i like bottom right. but many people do left, just as many do center, and equally as many do right.
it's entirely up to you.
there are no industry standards. do what YOU want.
