Hi Rebecca,

The first photo has better energy BUT, the angle is awkward and the hair is a little too messed up.

The second photo is fine though.

Your daughter is adorable!

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply-
The first photo isn't retouched yet and I've been told they can fix the hair- the angle is something I guess I should take into consideration though.
Thanks for your insight. I appreciate it!

The only choice is the second one. The first one is too weird an angle.

Personally I think the first one is perfect, just remove the hair in the face. I don't think the angle is going to be a problem as she is very cute, and that comes of right away before you even notice any angle problems.

Happy to help.

Like I said with the other post too, I would like to see them brightened up a bit in Photoshop. I think they can pop more with some help. Robert?

Too much like a snapshot. Second one IS a headshot.

I'm on board with Zenial on this one...

This picture has tremendous appeal. All of the minor issues mentioned above can be totally eliminated or improved in Photoshop.

These are very nice commercial shots. I agree with the others about picture 1 being quite usable.

Again with the angle hang up. Come on, stone, give it a rest. There is ABSOLUTELY not one thing wrong with the angle of the first shot. It is a very good commercial headshot. Photoshop the loose hair and run with it. And run away from Miss Stone's advice...I guess that is what you would call it. Me? I call it just plain wrong. AGAIN.

Number one is beautiful! A great energy, look, and vibrance that jumps out at me. The angle comes as an afterthought. The second one, though it looks more like a standard headshot, doesn't capture that youthful energy as much as the first. There are tons of headshots that go against the grain that totally work as long as they capture the essence of the person. (Bonnie Gillespie has a few examples of these on her Actor's Voice blog/forum/whatever you call it at actorsacces.com -worth checking out)

I personally like the first one better and definitely got more energy/life from that one. I also dont have an issue with the angle---the energy was the first part that hit me and the angle part didnt really come to the forefront of my mind until people started posting about it.
