In a headshot should the subject be looking at the camera? Or can they be facing the camera with their eyes looking away?

Looking away is fine for portraits.

For acting, I advocate always looking at the camera.

In my headshot, I'm looking "down", but it looks like I'm looking straight at the camera.

You're eyes will "sell" your headshot. Why hide them?
