Hello!

So, as I recently posted, I am about to start submitting for commercial representation.
I was just curious as to the differences between a commercial-directed resume and a theatrical-directed one.
Sorry if this sounds stupid...but when I'm submitting to commercial agencies, should I list my commercial experience first? Should I only list commercial exp.?
I'm a little confused because I've read/heard that you should always list film and tv credits first...I'm just not sure if that is solely intended for theatrical agencies only.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I dunno
My resume always says "List Available Upon Request" under commercials.
It doesnt matter so much in commercials if you are experienced...
it matters more how you look, how your personality is, and how you read.

With the exception of Agency logos, I use the SAME resume for both commercial and theatrical. I list the topics the following order, top to bottom regardless of the situation:
(LA example)
Film
Television
Theatre
Commercials
Training
Special Skills/Abilities

Ny is usually:
Theatre
Film
T.V.
Commercials
Training
Special Skills/Abilities

You ALWAYS put "List available upon request" for commercials or no commercial heading at all if you have none. This is to avoid conflicts. For example, if you did a Coke commercial years ago (conflict expired) and audition for a Pepsi Commercial, the casting directors could be like kids and have this "eeww you did a Coke commercial" mentality and might not hire you despite the conflict being over. If you meet with a commercial agency and they ask for a list, be sure to provide a SEPARATE list that lists the Commercial and the Casting Director.

As far as training on your resume goes, the top commercial agencies like to see IMPROV (preferably from a name like Groundlings, Second City, IO, UCB), a good commercial class, and cold reading.
