Also by "pink" top, I meant the pink and aqua ones.

Her energy is horrific in the posted photos ... if you cover up her clothes and look at her facial expression, she looks like she could be standing in line at the infirmary.

She's a very pretty girl and should do much better. The good ones in the linked photos all look down her cleavage. That's so unnecessary, and is a turnoff in MHO.

Also, retouching does not fix expression. It is not meant for that. The expression comes from the subject, and these shots will hurt a very pretty girl's chances of getting work.

Sorry I totally disagree/...

Did you look at the actual linked photos? All of the beginning commercial ones, she's got good energy...

I also think your hair looks better straight, btw. You may have a hard time finding a theatrical shot out of these...
I would choose the smiling ones and submit them for both commercial and theatrical, because the non smiling ones... the energy isn;t great.

Horrific? That's pretty harsh and unnecessarily so.

Remember, there is a person at the other end of your posts.

I agree they are not awesome but there are a some nice ones in there too.

"A woman, standing nude, looks in the bedroom mirror and says to her husband, "I feel horrible, I look fat and ugly. Pay me a compliment.? Her husband replied, "Your eyesight's damn near perfect." He never heard the shot."

I said her energy was horrific in the posted photos, not the linked photos. I also said she is a very pretty girl. The two are not mutually exclusive.

I also said some of the photos in the linked page were good, but I don't like photos that show cleavage.

Wow, I missed a lot here!

Haha, thanks everyone for your honest comments, seriously. I really appreciate everything people have said because there are going to be people out there that agree/disagree with each one of you I'm sure.

I do realize my theatrical expression is very weak, that is completely my own flaw though, nothing of Bradford's Wink I think I'll probably be sticking to the commercial shots for now anyway as I'm just starting out and focusing on commercial acting mainly.

Hmm, do you really think the cleavage is that bad?? I thought he actually did quite well with the covering up (but still suggesting what my body type is like, of course) considering the type of shirt it is and all. :P

Thank you again to everyone who's replied SmilerSmiler Maybe exclude the theatrical ones for now? And help me select a commercial one that might work?

At the request of a new poster, I just looked at these photographs.

I believe that the mainly negative critiques of these shots were accurate. However, I saw no evidence of anyone dissing the poster. I noticed a few good commercial looks among these, but the theatrical shots were all deserving of the comments, particularly in light of the reputation of this photographer.

But I don't think that any actor should EVER blame themselves for a photographer's inability to perform his job well. This is why you went to him, this is what you're paying for. If you didn't get all you paid for, you should request a re-shoot. This applies to Bradford, or me, or any headshot photographer.

You have heard me say on many occasions, IT IS ALWAYS THE PHOTOGRAPHER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO TELL THE ACTOR WHEN THEIR ENERGY ISN'T SUFFICIENT, OR TO HELP THE ACTOR WITH ANY OTHER PROBLEM THEY MAY BE HAVING. If he doesn't, either he doesn't know any better, or worse still, doesn't care enough to tell you. Alibis and excuses are for amateurs, not professionals.

Don't ever blame yourself for a photographer's failure to get the shot.

Thanks for showing these, well first off these are decent photos from an amateur photographer, but this is not what I would expect from Rogne. Everyone right, and even I could apply better make up than what the make up artist did (make up only; you’re beautiful!). Is it just me or is the skin tone appears a bit too orange? I also recognize that Rogne has basically nude men on his site, and then stamp that on, “best of Hollywood”. If he’s that good, then I would expect photographs that would blow my mind. Also I don’t like your arm is cut off from most of the pictures.

In all honesty, these look like half-done job, not because of you, but the photographer. He may be nice, but it is the product that you want. If I was you, I would be furious that I wasted my good money for these photos when the people on his website look so much more better technically wise. Then again it’s only the men that really look good on his website, and some of those women look like he didn’t even cared. I don’t know what is going on with that, I would expect both men and women to look as great. Especially women since he charges $150 for make up, and for men it is free.

These are good for an amateur, but not for a professional, especially Rogne. He should had been on top of his game here, this is his career, he makes a living off this, and if he cannot capture you well then I be enraged and walk up to his building and pound on his door for retakes or refund. I cannot even understand this, did he treat you well on this or did he just had you come in, took the pictures, and then lie to you, “Oh darling you look marvelous! Fabu! Muah muah”, as he flips his wrists, “Darling beautiful! Give it to me- fierce!”. Then he sends you the bill with these, no, unacceptable. Go get a reshoot.

You are a beautiful woman though, so nothing towards you, but these are just not that great.

They are not all bad, but I would expect a whole lot better.

I'll be watching you.

Well said and exactly right, Robert.

JanieZ- I got it. You are correct that the ones posted are sorely lacking.

Bradford- WTF? You can do better than this.

Commercial 6 and 9, Theatrical 2 and 7.

I'd guess early 20's.

I concur that these photos don't really "pop" (especially the theatrical) but I wouldn't call them awful. They're obviously professional quality.

If you have to say "they just need retouching" then it wasn't a great photo shoot. I always go to Paul Smith, and I NEVER need retouching on anything that has to do with him. Except for an errant eyebrow hair that I unfortunately didn't notice until after one of the shoots, I have never needed to retouch a photo from him. I don't even usually need to even crop them. And he makes a point of telling you if you're losing energy and becoming glazed over or passive in your shots -- he doesn't just keep shooting if he sees you aren't "popping."

I'm wondering if there are more pics with different poses than aren't posted? Most of these all look to have the same expression and the same posing, not much variety.
