As an independent filmmaker, I cast my own projects (with and without casting directors, depending on the project). We get so many submissions, and there's very little time given to any given headshot. So, I routinely skip over the snapshots such as the ones you've posted. They seem to say to me, "I am not really serious about my career." Perhaps others feel different, but that's how I react. Your headshot is the first impression you are going to make on CD's and directors -- why not try to make the best impression possible? Best, Ron

One solution is to go to Reproductions and look at the books of various photographers' work they have there. If you see people posting their headshots here, you could also contact them privately and ask who took them. Hopefully, if you're this new to the business, you're in class (if not, get in one for a while before you submit anywhere.) Ask your classmates about photographers. My overall impression honestly is that you're very green and should at least audit a number of classes and read a few books on the business (recommended elsewhere on this board) before even thinking of submitting. To answer your age question, you look young twenties, maybe late teens.

These would go straight through the shredder if it was on the desk of any serious agent or casting director. Also, what's with the shower curtain? J/K
