...but eventually (after literally years of ghosting around here) I am stepping into the deep end! And where else to start but wih the dreaded headshot? So please, wade in with guns blaring! Promise I can handle it Smiler

Ps: I'm new to this system, so please forgive if the images come out HUGE...

Is this last one too tight to be used as a head shot? I feel it is, but it would be good to get a professional opinion, coz I really like it.

Oh! And almost forgot, these are as is and havn't been photoshopped or anything. If I was to do that, what would you recommend?

i like them but i think the white background was a bad choice because you are so fair skinned.if it wasnt for the dark hair you'd blend right in.

I agree, but our options were limited!

These were actually taken by my flatmate (who is a student photographer). We just spent an hour fooling around in the studio which (unfortunately) only has the option of white. I promised her that if she took some shots for me I would throw them to the wolves and get her some decent feedback Wink

I happen to really like the third one! It's nicely done (with a few photoshop adjustments) and you look great! Of the three, you are connecting best in this shot.

Good luck!

I'm in agreement that the white background isn't a great choice here. Even if your background is white (white seamless paper, wall, etc), a photographer with a decent understanding of lighting can make that background any tone of gray - which I think would be an improvement here.

The second shot is clearly the winner.

The first is a "deer in the headlights," the third, much too close.

I just reduced the exposure, added a bit more saturation... and voila! You've got a serviceable commercial headshot.
