It's easier if you break a headshot down into two separate categories, "Style" and "Quality." Style-wise, the brick wall is too distracting. Quality-wise, the picture appears to be blurry. Bad rotouching may be the cause. I'm going to post a column on retouching in a few, look for it. www.robertkim.com

1st picture: look nervous but acting cool, shoulders hunched a bit, stiff. Eyes are connecting to me though, that's good. This headshot would work only if they are looking for this specific look at the right time. 2nd picture: The shirt blends way too much with the background, and your hair. Your eyes have this 'stalker' look.
