If your type, and only this specific look is in demand, and the director actually likes this than I suppose it would work. If you have the credits to back it up as well, and a nice name. If this reminds of him of his best friend, than maybe.

The second one: no, there's no hope in that one.

At the end the only suggestion is this: Something better than nothing.

Your chances are much lower with these pictures than a professional one. Without reading what you said, I thought this look like a friend took it (more so in the 2nd one).

Something is not better than nothing. Get professional pictures. Other than that I think you have a nice look.

Well he's getting profesional ones soon, and the first picture looks moderaty profesional, not technical wise but look wise. I could definitely enhance it a few levels higher.

If you can't wisely afford it then you may be good looking enough to get something?

I can understand nothing better than something if your not good looking. How soon is the question? If he's planning on getting new headshots next month then wait, next year then use something. He could also wait to 18.

You've got a nice look, but I think you can do better. Try some more shots without so much of a profile as in the first one and with a less busy background. You want your face and eyes to stand out, not the backgound or your profile.
