I needed to get a new headshot asap because there's an audition coming up that I want to submit for, but just had to drastically cut my hair for a project, and don't have the time or money right now to get a new headshot, so I found a photographer who did it for me TFP as part of his portfolio project, but I'm not really a big fan of the photo - I don't think it's very flattering, and personally like my old one better, even though that one's not fantastic either since its more of a "model-y" shot than a headshot... but what do you guys think? Use the new one with the short hair, or the old one with the long hair until I can get a better new one?

First one is awful. It's a snapshot and if you paid money for it you got screwed.

The second one- it's like a mugshot or passport photo. Don't send out crap in desperation. Save your cash until you can afford to get something that actually does you justice.

New one is an improvement, you look like two completely different people. I'd get new shots as well. Good luck!

I agree. I don't think you should rush into a headshot Sarah. Find someone that walks the commercial line and at the same time pleases your taste...I know that's easier said than done...but you can do it.

Try some Boston photographers...throw down a couple hundred. Get someone you know will deliver.

I think the second one is cool...but it's not a 'headshot'...it's too artsy.
