You can't be serious about that "photographer". Those photos look horrible.
As a woman, you should be very concerned about meeting some "photographer" through Craiglist. Where does he shoot? In his apartment??? red flag
See, Daisy, lots of people are concerned. If you don't have more money, have a friend take a few snaps, and you get real headshots later. If you really go to this guy, take at least a companion with you. Don't go alone.

I guess I would really love to hear more opinions on the craigslist guy since he's still my first choice. I especially like the one in the top right corner. Somebody here posted that his work is horrible, does anyone else think otherwise or is it just me? I'm not that experienced but to me they look good. I would definitely take my bf with me, hope the photographer won't mind. The link again is: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/crs/647920300.html
I have to wonder. Are you shilling for him? Because nothing in that link you keep linking makes me even think he has any clue about taking a good headshot. As a Broadway fan and a website designer who works with Broadway actors, I can tell you those headshots look horrible. I can even do better. It is beyond puzzling why you are so gun-ho about this guy. The dirt-cheap prices should NOT be the driving factor in this. Period. Spending $125 on horrid headshots is like tossing that money into the gutter. But since experience is the best lesson, just do what you want to do. You'll learn later that with most things there is a minimum threshold that one is required to pay to get something of good quality.

The truth is I can barely afford the $120 at this point. I absolutely can not pay a penny above that. Most photographers on reproductions.com charge more, way more.
I would love to hear about another photographer in Los Angeles area who is better and is under $120. I'm totally interested in going with someone else if there is a better option. But so far you guys are just trashing my only option without suggesting a better one. Labview, just curious what do you think makes those photographs "horrible"? Do you know him personally? Can you recommend someone better?
Daisies82, Suppose you spend the $125. And you get no interest from the photos. Is it $125 well-spent or did you just toss your money in the trash? I'm on the East Coast near NYC. I don't know photographers in LA. As to why they are so "horrible". If you can't see why, then I don't know what to say. I wouldn't even spend $10 on this photographer. The blunt truth of is that there are no better options because your budget is too low. Either wait until you have the money, or borrow the money. Money spent on JUNK is money throw away. And this is exactly how I feel about the portfolio of this "photographer". Good luck.
