It's amazing how many actors fall prey to every "new" and "improved" way to promote their careers. They're all scams. Everything from those expensive "window" envelopes (that virtually SCREAM, "newbie") and now, "special resume paper" that saves lazy actors from simply having them trimmed at the store (and who in God's name would buy a PAPER CUTTER to laboriously cut each piece of paper, one sheet at a time, when they can have the entire ream cut in SECONDS??). They call it, "Penny wise and pound foolish." And you DO NOT need "heavy" or "fancy" paper for a resume! Remember: It's not the paper you use for your resume, it's what's ON it. www.robertkim.com http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0453647/

As I write this, my three o'clock, a profession conductor from Washington, D.C. is in makeup. At five, I'm shooting a young lady from Alberta, Canada who's boyfriend bought her a trip to NYC and a headshot with me for her birthday. If my advice and recommendations are of no use to you, simply ignore them. I've noticed that when whenever people don't have anything helpful (or intelligent) to post, they generally resort to name-calling and petty insults. I have no power to insult you, or anyone. Your own advice is quite sufficient on it's own.

You started the insults, not me.

Now THAT is a bad idea!!!! Industry standard is 8 x 10 ONLY!!!! It's also common knowledge that CD's, agents etc often have drawers/slots sized just right to fit 8 x 10's and that if a resume or headshot does not fit or tears as they try to fit it in, it very likely will end up in the trash. Readers- NEVER print up anything that is not 8 x 10- EVER!!! Industry standard IS 8 x 10!!!!Truly, this board makes me go every day with something new!!!

I found some but it seems a little heavy. It's from Epson, called "Premium Presentation Paper Matte 8 x 10". $11.70 for 50 sheets. I'm thinking it may be a little too heavy though...I ordered it anyway, should have it in a few days.
I'm just looking for standard paper in this size, hadn't thought about having a place cut regular paper down until I saw this thread....that might be my next move if no one makes it...
Anyone?
Now THAT is an expensive-ass way to do it. Damn.

Different thing all together and you know it. Or, now I think about it, maybe you don't. Please, by all means, do your own thing but don't imply to others that it's the way to go. 8 x 10. It's not a trend like black and white or color. It's protocol and has been forever. THIS is a non-debatable issue.

From another website- "Be careful and do not foul up by submitting your headshot on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Use the standard photographic size of 8 x 10. For decades, the filing systems, filing folders and headshot books have been created with 8 x 10 inch images in mind. If your print sticks out on all edges, it might get you noticed, but likely in a negative way." Instead of trying to debate this FACT, you should be thanking me for enlightening you as to why you need to follow protocol. Maybe now, you'll have better luck when submitting.

It's OK for someone to spend 6 or 7 hundred bucks to get headshots done, but it's not OK to spend $7.29 for the paper to staple to the back of them?
I think it is the price that I balk at here. I can pick up a ream (500 sheets)of heavyweight paper for around $10, then have someone laser cut it for $4 more. So, for twice what you pay for 50 sheets, I can get 500 sheets.
