Just wondering if anyone has made a list of the best photographers in L.A.? Based on quality nor necessarily price.

Make sure you always meet with them first to see if you click and check they shoot your type regularly. It can be different shooting different ages and skin types etc.

That said, I like David Muller and Dennis Kwan right off of this very board.

"Best" is subjective. The best for someone else may not be the best for you. A friend recommended their favorite photographer, but when I met with them, we didn't click. (badum-bum.) I just didn't feel comfortable with them. Look at photos and see what you respond to -- see which ones you think are the best. Then meet the photographers and see if you like them. They may have taken great pix of someone else, but if you don't get along with them or feel you can't "be yourself", then it's not the photographer for you -- most people agree that the goal is to have a photo of you being yourself.

Reproductions (photo duplication service) has a Photographers Index. There are links to 23 photographer sites. They probably pay a fee to be on there, but it's a good central place to have a look at several notable photographers' work. There are two photographers on there that have taken my headshots. I liked both of them, but didn't think either of them was "the best". (If you're in the neighborhood of Reproductions -- Barham Blvd., near Universal -- they also have display books of numerous photographers. No, I don't work there. Many photo reproduction houses have similar set-ups.)
