You're a good looking guy who could do LOTS better. The hand is a no go. This image is just without any real emotion. life or connection. Go to reproductions.com and do some research. Make a short list of photographers who do work that you think fits you. Call them and schedule a meeting. Good luck. You can do so much better. Lawrence

If you were wearing a tux this would be like a good James Bond poster... :-) There are ways to position hands so that they aren't distracting...but the way this one is placed dominates the entire photo. Were there any other photos from this shoot? There might be a better shot you can use in the meantime while you're waiting on new photos.

You can find ACCEPTABLE photographers at: REPRODUCTIONS.COMGo through the books and look at photographers who photograph people like you well. Ie. Skin tone, ethnicity, hair color, eye color, age range, physical structure, etc. Choose your top 5 and meet with ALL of them! You want to get their philosophies and their personalities. You certainly don't want to work with someone whose personality sucks for you.

If you are in LA my session with David Muller cost 300 (not including makeup). http://bbs.backstage.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8011031/m/695108191Although, I've never met with a photographer before hand. I don't have the gas money/time. It's never turned out horrible... Then again I get along or atleast tolerate most personalities so I guess I never noticed. PS, Get rid of the gelmet. It's not a good look for a headshot, 1. And 2 it'll keep you typecasted.

Its a rough time to have to shell out a lot of money for new headshots! Unfortunately you do kid ---As Did I...My advice is to pay for quality upfront so they will last you awhile. There are also some good/cheap companies that will reprint for pretty cheap. I just tried this company theprintcollective.net and was very happy- 70$ for 100 head shots!
