My 13 year old dd has her first audition later today for a short film which I self-submitted her for on Actor's Access (we do not have representation). She has taken one workshop with Lane Napper and just started voice lessons last month. She also did an afterschool musical theater class for a year when she was 6 years old. I have put these three things on her resume (with no dates, correct?). She will be starting training at the Neighborhood Playhouse's Junior School at the end of September. She will be taking 90 min. of acting, 60 min. of dance and 50 min. of voice (group) once a week for 26 weeks. Can I put this under training with a note in parentheses that it will be staring on Sept. 27th? If yes, how do I list it. If I can't put it in is there a way to bring this up at the audition? Also, dd is an identical twin and the audition is for the role of 12-13 year old identical twins. Her sister is not at all interested in acting but agreed to do this for dd. Do I need to make up a resume for her too? She does not have the training that her sister has/will have. Would it be bad if the director (who is also the casting director) found out that her sister is not really an actress but is just doing this as a favor? We also do not have professional headshots yet. Do I need to bring a headshot of each to the audition or should I take a photo of them together since it is for identical twins? We did do a coaching session with Eric Davis on Thursday so I think they are well prepared. He felt that they should not know that one is not an actress (he said to just say that the training did not fit into the other one's schedule if asked). I forgot to ask him about the future training on the resume. I'm interested in all of your opinions on everything (resume, photos, one not being an actress). I have learned so much from all of you in the couple of months that I have been reading (and researching) this board. Thanks so much in advance!

Hi,
I would not put down planned training on a resume. Wait until she is actually taking the training and put it down as currently taking.
The twin roles, btw are for brother/sister twins i believe, unless they are changing the script for Bobby. (My son auditioned for Bobby).
Break a leg... You have NY work permits,I hope! They ask at Greencard.
I would take a pix of each separately and together as twins. Please do not take snapshots. Meaning on camera flash. If you are any good at all, are using a dslr and can manipulate light, you can get halfway decent pix. Go to a pro when you are able to.

Thanks for your reply! They are trying out for the friends of Becky (Jenna & Jemma) and not the lead role. I didn't feel like dd was ready to try out for Becky as she has no experience at all. As far as photos I'm assuming dslr is "digital single lens reflex". Unfortunatley I only have a "point and shoot" and I'm planning on taking the photos outside today when they are dressed identical (which they NEVER do!) so I will try to make them as "professional" as I can but they will still be snapshots. I read that the director will be seeing students at Babylon H.S. (where he is from and where he will be filming) once school starts so I'm assuming that means he is open to new, inexperienced talent. Do you think it will hurt our chances if he knows that one is not pursuing acting and should I still put together a resume for her?

How did your son feel his audition went? Any info you can give us on what to expect would be greatly appreciated!

Ah ha! Got ya. I would not worry about your nonacting dd. Put together something, anything that they can look at. I guess that casting is open to seeing more kids, but I noticed that they also opened it to SAG represented kids too.
My son was happy with how he did and read for the bully role too. ( I think he's a little tall for the lead) There were a wide range of experienced kids at the audition on Wednesday. Meaning some were not prepared. Your girls should be fine and just consider this audition experience...
BAL...
