I am new here, and new to this industry. My daughter will be 6 in Jan. and we just had a few headshots done by a photographer (and I took several photos of my own, to send into agencies, I am going to post a sampling!). What do you think of all the photos?
She's ADORABLE! I like the first two the best. In future, try to have simpler clothing, not "busy" designs that distract attention from her face. But the first two definitely do work great despite that - she looks so open and happy and friendly!

I think that the 5th one down shows her in such a natural, comfortable way. I love it. She is just beaming!! I would crop it tighter.
Although it is a shot you took and not a professional shot, at her age it won't hurt her by using it.
If you had just posted the pro photos I would say they are fine but in comparison to her natural shots taken by you there is no comparison. Real smiles always win!

Thank you very much for your advice! And she really is such a happy and friendly girl, she is the biggest sweetheart ever!

That is one of my favorite pictures of her, it just makes me smile everytime I see it! I will definetely crop it tighter and go from there. Thank you so much, Ron, for your advice, I appreciate it more then I can ever express!
I like the shots you took better than the "professional" shots!
I agree with Ron.
In the "professional" shots, the second one especially, the way her head is tilted plus the imbalance of her hair makes her jaw look kind of strange on the right side of the picture. It's all kind of unnatural looking.
You can see from the pictures you took and the ones the other photographer took the difference between her natural smile and her forced smile. Her natural smile shows a little bit more of her gums and is much nicer.
