I appeared on the news to be interviewed about my thoughts on the elections. Should that go on an acting resume?

Good question. Here are my thoughts. When listing non-acting appearances, they are usully related to the actor as a hired guest, or making a guest appearance, discussing themselves as a performer and/or a film, TV, theatre, competition or charity project they are involved with.

I would say that an impromptu interview on the news that is non-acting related would not go on your resume.
