I think it is a nice picture. But I think you could do better. The lighting isn't all that great, it's all pretty dark. Also depending on whether you are in La, headshots are usually supposed to be cropped closer. If you can, invest in some new shots that make you look amazing!

Dang! Why all the doom and gloom? Hows about a little color? Grey and grey and grey... sigh. And the angle is disconcerting. And your expression is a little dead.

I'd like to see more from the session with other backgrounds and wardrobe. Overall it's not a bad shot. I bet you can find one with a bit more pop to it that really has the potential to get you called in.

Hey! It's the guy who says he's "the next Brad Pitt and THE BEST LOOKING GUY AROUND!"

Don't remember?

This is NOT a good headshot!

NO improvement from these:

-Your arms are distracting

-You're shot from a weird angle and thus looking up.

-It's difficult to determine your body type from the weird angle too. Casting Directors and Talent agents want to be able to see the upper part of your torso clearly in a headshot so they can get a good idea of what you look like phyiscally.

-Black with a dark background was a stupid move on both parts.

It's clearly a bad snap-shot. It looks bad - very - for a headshot.

Also:

1) the BG is too close in color to you and your outfit - you need contrast.

2) The lighting is obviously from an on-camera flash. It casts a weird shadow on the BG, and it totally unflattering for your face.

3) I'd suggest a different shirt, one that complements your coloring.

4) Hands do not belong in headshots. (okay for half body and body shots, obv.)

My opinions only.

I guess you should get depth to your background, with some natural lighting. Gives it diversity, since what you need for your skin tone and hair color and eye color is something of a light to add a bit of mystery around you to give depth to your persona.

Next is to change the clothes. Go for a brown shirt, or make a jump to a royal blue, or something a bit more vibrant that looks good on you (in your opinion). Trust me, it gives layer of definition to personality.

Get a white a border.

I think this'll help you out. Then again, I'm not specialized in anything, so don't take my word for it.

Be sure that if someone shoots you, its a photographer who is familiar with dark skin tone, dark hair, and dark eyes. That way, he'll best know how to highlight your features.

After a really really quick Photoshop session (bout 5 minutes with a lot of Clone Stamp tool and adjusting exposure, gamma, and contrast), I'd say you should look more for something like this:

You need natural light to best light your face. And don't do a photo at a weird angle like the top. Also, watch out for shirts that can look wrinkly when worn. In the photo up top, it was very distracting (at least for me).

Your photos are poorly lit and the angles are not right for a current headshot. Invest in professional shots -- your competition is!

The good news is that you have a good look, and in the right hands should get great shots.

He's moderately attractive for the average guy , but he isn't that attractive if he's comparing himself to celebrities who define the standard of beauty (especially Brad Pitt... you ain't all that to be compare to him). He's about average for his age group. I see better looking guys than him everyday, but I see a lot worse as well.

Just know where you fall in the attraction scale, and be realistic.
