I want to get some postcards made but cant decide on what to print on them. How effective are the 2 photos side by side? Should I just put one photo on it? Thanks

One photo makes a stronger statement, I think

It depends on what kind of agent. For a commercial two may be fine if you have two really good commercial shots.
But for theatrical, I'd put just one.

So many people ask this question lol, im just gonna post what eldorado said in another post:

-Name, CELL phone number, and email on the top left side.
-Headshot on the right half. (If I sent a headshot to an agent, I usually have the same headshot that I sent on the postcard).
-Most of the left side underneath my contact info is left blank intentionally. I usually print whatever I have to say on those Avery 2x2 5/8 labels and stick them in that void of blankness. This way, I don't waste money having dated material printed on a postcard that will become obsolete next week i.e. "See me at this show!" When sending to Commercial CDs, I have on the label "Now represented by X Agency! 818-xxx-xxxx(this is the agency's phone number)."
-No need to write on the back. One thing I do if I know the correct address for sure is put a phony return address. I normally put my name and the agency's address as my return. I do this because what if the agent doesn't shred it after looking at it and now it's in some hands of a weirdo who can come to my house?

Thanks for giving me the credit ChocaMilkStudios!

Actor4life

I thought you said that you studied with Mike Pointer. This is exactly what he teaches.

I studied with Mike Pointer and here is an example that illustrates what Eldorado59 and ChocaMilkStudios are talking about:

Left space is blank and I put a Rectangular Avery sticker #6572 there. The dimensions of the sticker are 2"x2 5/8"

I use my most used Commercial headshot.

Yeah, this is the most used COMMERCIAL headshot. I usually get called for more upscale genres so this one is used more than my other commercial headshot.

I do use that beard headshot a lot as well and have a similar style postcard with that headshot on it.

lol, Yeah I did but kinda like a little different setup. I like the picture on the bottom and info on top. Makes the picture stand out more while still having your info not covered by the sticker they put on it.

If you have your contact info directly above your headshot, then your headshot is smaller. You want it as big as possible hence why it's better to have your contact info to the side of it, like I had illustrated.

Wow! That was some really great postcard advice. I will certainly be using those tips now myself. Wink
