In my opinion, all of these are over-produced. Such a heavy hand guiding everything -- makeup, lighting, wardrobe, and retouching. The double-catchlight shot is, for me, a no-no with men. Women are flattered by open shadows, men more so with better definition -- their jawline is strengthened.

The paisley pattern and heavy fabric of the jacket seems really stiff for headshot work, and this stiffness seems to also be transferred to his expression.

Hope my honesty doesn't sound spiteful -- I am trying to be exact in my observations and have no interest in making this personal. He's got quite a unique look, as others have said throughout the thread. I love unique Smiler

sagaftraaea - too girly? perhaps - and no offense taken of this comment. Brian's had people question his look and sexuality because of his appearance for years now. He has always been "pretty". This makes him a little more unique in appearance and at times we play upon that angle. We use it for marketing and versitility. Having said that, if you look at the last photoshoot we did, it's a completely different look and not much girly about it. Since Brian is hetrosexual, his look, warm smile and charisma seem to draw women like flies so his unique pretty look has worked well in theatre - he's hoping to carry that over to film.

jlafferty - absolutely no offense taken to your frankness and you don't sound spiteful at all. Your comments are much appreciated and will be used in Brian's next headshot shoot.

On that note, the last month has been one of change for Brian. His jawline and forehead are becoming more pronouced and his facial hair fuller. He hasn't lost the pretty but the intensity of it is ... different. It will be interesting to compare next year's headshots against these.

That is not a market Brian has any interest in pursuing.

By putting additional make-up on Brian you are offending - very much so. Please remove it. I ask this nicely before I have Admin remove it. Your comments were not found to be offensive, your doctoring of his shot is found to be very offense and not the least bit professional.

And just exactly how was it to have helped? None of us, no one on this forum, Brian's managers and agents nor myself, need your visual assistance in knowing how to market Brian. We are all above the age of three. Simply stating an additional market is fine - actually doctoring a photo - that's crossing the line. And if you DIDN'T know that... well, you knew exactly what you were doing.

Well then why the heck did you post the photos if you didn't want suggestions and advice? There was nothing inappropriate in photoshopping the picture to show an additional way to use them--I thought it was and is a great idea.

Anita, no... it wasnt the usual photoshopping...

I photoshopped onto the pic, woman style makeup, lipstick, eyeliner and eye shadow, and also blush. my idea is that he could also do drag work because of his very feminine features and I worked with men who do drag work and it pays extremely well... many respectable actors have done drag work including patrick swayze, robin williams, eddie murphy... but she took offense to the photo and I removed it.
