Love the shot. It is a theatrical shot but it is also a nice clean image of his face. Wish it was a vertical shot. I am finding that those are more in demand these days because they fit better on an online resume or forum. Don't use the black and white one. Its flat.

Weird thing is, the makeup. She put a light foundation on the face, did the eyes, didn't touch the neck. There is no difference in the makeup between the face and when Brian got home I could notice a where the foundation had smoothed his face but it wasn't heavy. Now, the eyes and the eyebrows I think are too heavy but I'm not sure why in a couple of these shots (brown leather jacket) he looks more made up than say the first shot.

seeing more shots, i thought i'd respond again.
i'm really (;personally) not a fan of that black jacket with the swirls and such. it just seems really dated and odd with a young kid in a modern society. again, if he's ONLY going for "interview with a vampire" era pieces, these are just great, but they seem odd and out of place when compared to modern shots.
i tihnk they'd be a really tough sell for an agent to use.
the white jacket is much more modern, and is also a good shot, but it seems very fashion. if used for a headshot, it has too much emotion, feels very standoff-ish. he looks like "dont mess with me, i can't decide if i'm crying or angry or angsting but just dont talk to me" and his arms are crossed in a 'don't bother me, i dont want you near me' kind of thing. i think that is the feedback you'd get from submitting it to agencies. and with the collar up, it looks very 80s.
the brown jacket, looks like the poor thing is crying! and that maybe the photo has a bit of a sepia tone to it, not natural colors.
and the last shot, the full body, feels like a fashion shot, not a headshot. feels very artsy.
again, these are just my opinions, but i think if he's looking to be a mainstream performer, even a mainstream model (which i think he'd be VERY successful doing), none of these shots work and you should find a new photog and modern clothes.
you can't change who he is or what he wants from his career, but he just seems too unique and could be a hard sell for any agent with these shots.

Yup. These are all modeling shots. I'll bet my last camera that they were done by a fashion photographer? Go my my website FAQ page and read: "...DIFFERENT KINDS OF PHOTOGRAPHERS..." These are all too "pretty," too over-produced. Great quality, though. Just not useful for acting roles. “Whatever works.” www.robertkim.comhttp://www.imdb.com/name/nm0453647

Thanks vBrandy. We actually did end up doing another shot and got a completely different look. Since then Brian has signed with an agent and his agent is working with pics from both photographers. And spot on - Brian is 19.
