Do you think its wise to spend over $50.00 on clear envelopes for your headshots, or should you just stick with the old fashioned manilla envelopes to do your mass mailings? Thanks!

I'm sorry and this may sound a bit snarky, but I think it's incredibly ironic that you, avidactor, who have spent many a post on this board defending JRP and the exhorbitant prices they charge for classes that could be had far cheaper (and better, I suspect) elsewhere, are so concerned about spending $50.00 on envelopes. Why not take your own advice and go for broke.

are you serious lady? Get a life. If Im on defending JRP its because of the hard work of the instructors, its not about the money. Get over yourself. If you wanna bitch about JRP, do it on a topic related to JRP, not here. Why pick fights? Is this what you come on the internet for? Its people like you that bash others for no apparent reason. Here's an idea, if you don't like JRP, DONT GO THERE! Did that thought ever cross your mind??? Im sure there ARE other schools, and Im sure they offer great education as well! I never said there wasn't. I respect those that work at JRP because I see what the instructors instill in their students. I support anyone who educates these children in the arts. What the hell is wrong with you???

I highly recommend AGAINST clear see through envelopes.
As an indie filmmaker, I can tell you if your picture isn't perfect, the envelope never gets opened. At least if we have to open up the envelope, there's a chance your resume might make us want to pull you in.
That is an excellent point! Thanks! I was wondering if it would be detrimental in having the cd, or agent see you through the clear packaging. I know it takes away from the surprise of whats inside too. Thanks guys!

For anyone considering any kind of packaging options: Don't get anything designed specifically for actor headshots. All of the prices have been marked up, as the industry is aware how badly most actors are look for an 'edge' when sending shots for casting.
So get non headshot specific products. Go for office supply or paper stores.
