Hey everyone, i'm saving up money to get new headshots done, i'm broke as a joke right now. My photographer friend helped me out recently, do you think this shot is usable in the meantime, while I save money? Thx

It's actually one of the better and usable shots I've seen not done professionally.

I agree. That shot is better than a lot of headshots that actors pay big bucks for. Your 'photographer friend' is clearly a photographer as well as a friend. You can use that shot "in the meantime" and until it no longer looks like you. Save your money, and use it on something else.

thx for the kind words, we did CRAZY research before we took these (looked at tons of headshots and photographers, as well as read TRUTHTELLER's post on good headshots). I did the photo retouching myself.

This is definitely a useable shot, however something about the crop bothers me.

I would leave in a tad more of your lower body. When you crop it in photoshop set your dimensions to 9in in height and 6 inches in width. That is the standard that is mounted on 8x10 paper.
