We're upgrading from homemade "mugshot" to semi-pro headshot (friend with good gear). No, it's not a pro headshot (yet), but what do you think of this in the meantime?

Thanks!

Thanks, Ron! I was hoping you'd see this.

Do you think it will work alright? Lighting, color, etc?

Thanks JeannieMai! I'll let my friend know.

How old do you think she looks? What ages could she play?

Fluff,
Here are a few tips to help with that shot.
First have your DD lift her head up a bit.
Next angle her shoulders 45degrees, her right shoulder back. Then, have your friend take the flash off the camera. It looks like it is on a bracket. Again about 45 degrees and above your DD. And for petes sake, diffuse it. The light is too direct. He needs to create 'modeling' to bring out 3d features. Those are basic ideas to help with a headshot.
Good luck,
GT

Thanks GT. I'll pass along the feedback.

We had a heck of a time with her dropping her chin!

cool! That's what we're going for. She's actually almost 14, but short (57"), so she plays younger.

I agree the above remarks by DadinWinchester.

Don't use an on-camera flash, try to use the natural available light if possible.

Also, turning her to the side would be good because all that empty space in her neck/chest area is distracting the attention from her face.

Cute!
