Honestly, I just cannot decide if this headshot is any good. I'm contemplating getting new ones, even though I got this about a month ago. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Also, would this be the wrong headshot to send to commercial agencies? Thanks in advance!

Get new ones. This one has no energy- it doesn't say anything about you and you can't really tell what you look like as it is cropped so tightly.

No this is not a commercial shot either. Commercials shots usually show teeth.

Do a lot of research before you get more dones. Spend some hours on here reading, looking and seeing what else has been said and posted on the subject.

miss stone, thank you so much for you input! my friend said that this headshot does not really look like me. And all the others in the bunch were even worse. So I think I'll definitely get some new ones, when I can afford to!

You're welcome. It takes balls to post a headshot here and even more to take criticism well so kudos to you- you will kick ass!!!! Smiler

I'm gonna second MissStone-
you want your eyes to have vitality.

I dont mind the crop so much, and also, if you have a relationship with any decent CD, ask them they would take a look at your contact sheet when you get your new headshots done, I let a CD buddy of mine pick mine and it's done wonders for me.

For commercials, you're going to want a big smile with teeth and lots of energy in the eyes.

I think this shot could work for "woman in trouble" but it's a little too cropped.

Hi,
Although this is kind of a good dramatic shot, it doesn't have a lot going on. It looks more like a modeling shot. If there's nothing better in your other shots, you'll need to re-shoot.
I don't think commercial shots absolutely need to have a big huge smile, but should show at least a healthy smirk and lots of sparkle.
You can go to Argentum.com and there are many headshot photographers listed on their site.
All the best!

PLEASE do your homework. I know money is tight and I want you to get it right next time so your hard-earned cash is not wasted. Smiler

There are some awesome photographers out there, some right on this very forum. Take your time, research carefully and don't rush into anything.

You look really beautiful and I don't think this shot is nearly as awful as many others I've seen posted up on here. Definitely not commercial though.
