Hello everyone I was thinking this is better headshot for theatrical because it has more facial reaction to it??

This is a far better choice for your type and age range.

The pose and intention is 100% better, too.

If only you went to someone who understood lighting, you'd have a real winner here.

Agreed. This is a wonderful shot. Great color choice, good hairstyle, connection with the camera. Robert obviously knows more than me about lighting, so listen to him on that one.

Otherwise, its a great shot of a very handsome guy.

You're a great looking guy, that's very apparent in your picture, but I'm sure you'd do exponentially better with better lighting and not just an on-camera flash.

The on-camera flash that was used in this picture generates just a tiny little catchlight in your eyes...part of what makes for really great soulful headshots that connect with the viewer are when the eyes really stand out, and a bigger catchlight really helps with that.

Not that anyone needs a double post, but DK is 100% right here. Get yourself some professional headshots done when you can. Good luck Smiler

I think your facial expression and angle are extremely appropriate for theatrical usage. I have to say you're good looking too. The colors are very vibrant but not disturbing. However, see if you could leverage on the lighting to bring out the best of you. Perhaps you could discuss with your photographer and come up with a better shot focusing on bringing out all that you've done well and more.Best of luck!
