Scripts:

- Stranger Than Fiction (one of the most brilliant scripts I've read in years)

- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (gotta love Kaufmann)

- The Insider (as good as the film is, the script is even better!)

- On The Waterfront (amazing film, but the script itself is a classic)

Keely and Du -- excellent recommendation. A powerful piece of writing; good opportunities for actors.

Given my age/sex, I particularly like the role of the mastermind.

I love that someone quoted the big lebowski, what an incredible flick.

Along with that:
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
O Brother Where Art Thou
And my all time fave, The goonies.

I just finished Proof, and it was fantastic! It's weird, but I've wanted to be in Proof for years, but this is the first time I read it... and I love it even more now! I want to play Catherine so badly. I'll probably have to wait a looong time, though.

I also recently read The Wisdom of Eve- amazing play!

About a month ago, I finished a doing a play, The Secret School, which was based off the novel by Avi. I'm sure people on this board know that, in order for a play to be published, it must be performed three times. Well, my theatre was the third- it's going to be published! I was so happy to be part of that process!

Just saw that movie again. Wonderful, and liked it better than the first time.

I want to add "Sideways".

Grew recently to like Edgar Lee Masters' "Spoon River Anthology"

Be specific. "Whatever" just doesn't work.

I love Maude's line where she uses textbook iambic pentameter:
"Yes, the little Lebowski urban achievers, and proud we are of all of them."
Classic.

Wonderful line!

One of my favorite lines of all times is said by Miles/Paul Giamatti.

"If anybody drinks Merlot, I'm leaving!"

It says so much about this character in one short line. all the escapism, elitism, love for wine, longing for excellence, and his horror of mediocrity.

Paul Giamatti gives it this wonderful ring, as if he wished somebody would drink Merlot, so he can go back and isolate and feel sorry for himself.

This is comedy at its best!

I vote for anything Shakespeare ever wrote. And as far as saying the 'M' word is concerned...I think it's okay as long as you are not in a theatre when you say it. I've uttered that fabulous Scottish king's name many times and I'm still breathing. Smiler

Yes, Shakespeare is a saint in my book. I used to hate the history plays, but I started to get into them a lot more, and what I used to HATE and think was BORING, turned out to be the most exciting stories I've read! Who knew?
