Hi Everyone,

I like going to bookstores where I can sit down comfortably and read for a few hours. I'm in LA, and I noticed that many of the bookstores here (like Samuel French) don't have comfortable seats with tables.

Barnes & Noble at The Grove has comfortable seating, but for example, they won't let you look at "Hollywood Reporter" unless you're absolutely paying for it -- which is why the now keep it BEHIND the cash registers!

I like BORDERS in Hollywood, because it's comfortable, they carry all the entertainment trades... BUT they don't have a bathroom!!

Aren't there one or two LA bookstores that have it all??!

THANKS!

Can't think of any (I'm currently in NY, but I have been in LA). I can kind of understand why they keep Hollywood Reporter behind the counter, a lot of stores do that with Ross Reports too.

you could buy that one and then sit down and browse through books and magazines at Barnes & Noble.

other than that, not sure!

Thanks, Justine!

I'm formerly a New Yorker, and I miss having access to any magazine... and being able to read for hours.

It's harder to find places like that here in LA. I mean, they do exist, but like you said, they probably got tired of people reading the trades. In NYC, they did not seem to care as much.

Cheers!

Thanks, Joe.

I really like the Borders in Hollywood, so I'll stick to them for now.
