Ok, so to my fellow dancers out there, musical theatre or otherwise, my question is this: do you have any advice for getting better at picking up dance combinations quickly? If you've been to a dance audition for most braodway shows or dance companies, you know that they teach FAST! And it's usually in a crowded room where you are gonna have trouble even seeing the choreographer demonstrate the movement. Other than taking class as often as possible, are there any other tricks you guys know for learning faster in an audition setting? Thanks!

I know you said OTHER than but you should go to more dance classes and get better through practicing. Seriously, that's how these auditions are run and you need to step it up to compete. Like anything that is competitive.

"A woman, standing nude, looks in the bedroom mirror and says to her husband, "I feel horrible, I look fat and ugly. Pay me a compliment.? Her husband replied, "Your eyesight's damn near perfect." He never heard the shot."

It's kind of like if an NBA player were to ask his coach right before the championship game if he had any tips on shooting.

There is no "magic tip" that is going to make you good. It's the 10 years of relentless work you put into mastering your craft that makes you good.
