Contact ACORN. A group that helps with under-the-table work. There are YouTube videos about them.

So what about when your Visa expires?
And I hate to burst your bubble but unless you have some connections lined up- and I mean GOOD ones, OR unless you are super hot, there is not really any chance you will snag an agent in 90 days. And if you did, how do plan on being in town for auditions- if you have to leave after 90 days?
LA IS a full-time commitment for any actor who is not yet established. Noone will sign you if they think that you won't be available for auditions at a moment's notice.
Things you need to get an agent are- SAG-Eligibility, a good, polished reel, credits and good training, preferably from a place or teacher that industry people know and a killer headshot.
Why would anyone want you if you have nothing yet to bring to the table?
Just being honest.
I would get rid of the agent notion for now and use this trip to get to know the place and research places to train, live and work for starters. Get a feel for the place, learn how things work and just familiarize yourself.
They say that 6,000 people a month move to LA to act. Something to think about.

Hi Miss Stone- I totally appreciate your advice and totally hear what you are saying and I am in LA because I am working in a film in Canada, main reason why I am there. Attending some studies with some good CDs, have an agent based in my homeland of who has an office in Hollywood and a few auditions in LA. I am really coming only for these key reasons and yes I am coming to definately check out the industry for sure and also buy some resources that we do not have unless we buy via amazon and even then sometimes its hard to order. I am asking for under-the-table work, as I want to while I am there earn more money to survive for 90 days. I dont have a visa apart from a holiday one but if this agent gets me work I could be sponsored but that all depends on the agent and my chances as well as my networks that I do have in LA. I believe I have studied more than enough the ins/outs of LA and how to set up etc for the past eight years, however this is my first time actually experiancing it directly and using all my knowledge I have read alot up on and I am sure I will totally learn more when I am there. I know all the horror stories. And to be honest am sick of hearing them because I need to experiance it for myself and learn if its for the good or the bad rather than get scared and never do the LA thing and procrastinate like I have done for the past eight years. Any ideas on how I can find under-the-table work?? Any job I dont care doing what is appreciated.
