Granted I haven't combed through this whole discussion board, but a quick search revealed that no one has brought up this great resource yet! elance is the best thing to happen to those looking for flexible work. You can post a profile, tout your skill (whether that's PHP or any other techie skills, translation, marketing, or just plain resourcefulness) and then bid on projects. If the person looking for help hires you, you do the project and get paid a flat rate, but you do all the work remotely and on your own time. There are projects like web design, writing internet articles, and I even hired a girl in Texas to research importing yoga products from India - she didn't have any special credentials or anything, she was just clever on the internet and willing to work for $12 an hour. It can be competitive, but if you get some projects, as far as flexible work goes, you can't beat it. Much luck to you all!

I've found jobs on elance and on guru.com. Loved the two links, they are right on. My .02... there seem to be some good jobs mixed in with the crazies. The crazies are the people who want things like the personal e-mails of every realtor in the US within 48 hours for $100. Guru has an escrow system, so the employer escrows all or part of the payment. I haven't made a fortune, but feel that the jobs i did take/get were fairly priced.
