I went with my one year old daughter saturday for a call with a print agency that seems very repuatable from what everyone is saying,They told me that they would let me know in a week if they were interested or not and they called me not even two days later to tell me they were very interested,Now is that a good sign that they called me so fast or is that just normal?

that would definitely be a good sign, especially if it is a reputable agency. Good luck to you and your dd!

Sounds good to me, do as much research as you feel you need to do - and good luck!

No, it's a horrible sign! It means they dont want your daughter at all and are lying to you. Had they offered you a contract on the spot, I would have jumped out the window to get away from them. The more they show they like your DD the faster you should run.

Jeez, I'm kidding of course, but trying to read that much into the tea leaves is a bit much. They called within 2 days and said they were interested. I think under anyone's definition, that would be a pretty good sign.

I am assuming you are talking about Product since they had an open call on Saturday. They always call on the following Monday to set up a phone appointment if they are interested. There is nothing to be afraid of. Ask them all of your questions; they will be happy to answer them.

We were there as well and my daughter got a call on Monday. I think it's a compliment, given the number of kids that showed up (at least 100). This time of year lots of companies are doing back to school print so if they feel they have a child with "a good look", they're professional enough to recognize it and grab it.
It is a VERY reputable boutique company and they get the same jobs as Generation and it is compliment to your child. If you read the boards re: Product, some parents have submitted their child through the Product website and were never contacted. I think if you take the time to bring your child to any open calls, you should research the company first so you don't 2nd guess yourself or wind up in an unhappy situation. This business is all about doing your own research and networking with others.

Ok, maybe I should have rephrased it. Is calling you within 2 days a good sign of what? Perhaps I was unclear of the question because clearly, if you managed to find your way to one of the best print agents in the business for an open call, I would think that you would also know that having them call you 2 days later to say they are interested in your daughter would also be good.
Either way, congratulations. As rabb said, it's a compliment when they are interested in your kid at all. I dont think it really matters whether they called you 2 days later or 3.

Your one year old daughter already has a fear of rejection? Then she's far too sensitive (as are you) for this biz, where it's 99% rejection.

This exactly why I posted this,And please no offense to the wonderful people who tried to help,When I went Saturday and seen some of the lunatic parents there it scared me off a little so I decided to get an idea of what my daughter would be involved with and you tell me things about my daughter that you have never met are you disturbed I dont know how long you have been a parent but you should never say things about someones child,And then your comment about me thats ok you have no idea about me but you pass judgement thats just a sign of ignorance so I know now to pay no attention to you,If it makes me too sensitve because I worry about the welfare of my daughter than I guess Im just a sensitive guy.

Congrats Sophies dad! It is a great thing to have a good reputable agent interested in your dd, and even better to have them call so fast. Being a newbie myself, I can totally understand how you feel.
It's only natural as a parent to want to protect our child. Make informed decisions by doing a search on this & other boards such as showfax or delphiforums. You can read other people's experiences & advice & make a choice that is best for you & your dd. After doing some research on this & other boards, I am happy to say we made the right choice to go with the agent that we are with now. Good luck to you! You will learn very fast.

Hi Sophie's Dad,

We are new here too - just curious, can you decribe more what you mean about the lunatic parents you encountered? I'd like to know what we can anticipate.
