My daughter was signed , but never given vouchers as I see others have mentioned receiving @ interview. She has been requested and placed on hold. I've sent an email regarding the permit/vouchers etc.. but to no avail. What will happen if she is booked without being in receipt of this information? Should I just call as a "gentle reminder" or is it taken care of via the office? I don't want to come off as a pest. Especially after not receiving a response back Confused

We were in a similar situation. I wound up calling to ask if I could come by to pick up the vouchers. It's important that you obtain them. It's your responsibility to make sure you have them at all shoots.

Absolutely call the office! You should have received these vouchers. You need this in order for the client to sign and show proof of hrly rate and hrs worked. It's a carbon copy for you, the agent and the client. Also, this is a way for you to get a contact name and # of someone to follow up with after the completed project months later if you don't ever see the pics around (We do that all the time and it helps tremendously because at times, it's next to impossible to find where the pics end up if your not told in advance).
Perhaps you can stop by your agents office and pick them up rather than relying on them to send them out if that's a possibility at all. You get a bunch at one time so it wouldn't be a frequent trip. Don't ever feel as though your a pest or feel intimidated. They they are working for you. Congrats on the hold and try to get those vouchers. Good Luck

Really not that big of a deal. I would not make a special trip in just to pick-up vouchers. When she books a job, let them know you do not have any vouchers and they will email you one to print out or fax you one to bring to the job. I see a lot of parents new to the business at shoots with printed out vouchers. Even those of us who have been doing this for awhile run out every now and then or forget them. I usually have more then one with me and will share. Just call to stop by office the next time you are in the area to pick up some vouchers. Good luck with the hold!

Not sure if I would tell a parent new to the business and not having a voucher at a shoot is

"Really not that big of a deal. I would not make a special trip in just to pick-up vouchers."

All booking agents are different and obviously this mom is fairly new to the business, therefore she's looking to do the right thing and start off on the right foot. Some agents get ticked by the smallest things. Once an ol' pro...you can print off vouchers if the agency has that capability, or borrow vouchers ?? from someone else but it doesn't look professional to not have one on hand.
As the saying goes....Better to have and not need than to Need and Not have!!

It's really not that big of a deal. There is absolutely no need to rush into the city, pay tolls and parking to pick up vouchers because her child is holding. It would be perfectly fine to stop by the agency an hour before the job to pick some up. It is also perfectly fine to use a printed out voucher, or borrow from someone else. She might not be an "ol' pro" to the business but I'm sure she's more than capable of using her printer. Would save a trip, that's for sure! Why not just ask the agency to drop a few in the mail?

NYmomoftwo.....Obviously she didn't know printing was even an option which is why she posted in the 1st place so your comment is very sarcastic and unnecessary

quote: "I'm sure she's more than capable of using her printer".

BEST bet for anyone new in the industry is to communicate with their agent REGARDLESS of whether their on hold or a confirmed booking if they are unsure.

The poster did contact her agent and APPARENTLY it was a concern if you read the posters last reply.

You have no idea whether or not this person's schedule allows "an hour" prior to the job if booked to stop by the agency and as she already stated she sent an e-mail and it went unanswered.

2starz you need to chill out! It is NOT that big of a deal. You're making a new person worry for no reason. And Frankly you are the one who sounds sarcatic and uptight. girlchase next time you're in the city pick up vouchers, meanwhile if you book a job the agency will have no problem faxing a voucher for you to use They will want to get paid.

No it is not a big deal at all. It was a CONCERN of the posters. The poster got her question answered, her agent INSTRUCTED them to come in immediately to pick up the vouchers ...not to print them out and borrow etc...as recommended by others on here.

Actually debclaire YOU need to chill out ...all of these ridiculous back and forth comments are unnecessary. Poster got her response, communicated with her agent and problem resolved! Move on!!

Hi.
I received the vouchers. My daughter will be escorted alot of times so I just went and picked up them up to avoid additional request for travel other than a go see or job booking. It will make it easier for everyone. Sorry for some of the fuss. However, thanks everyone for advice.....really!!

Just leave it debclair. 2stars for some reason personally feels the need to patrol this thread. Just let it go so she can get off her high horse. Smiler

seriously 2stars! First of all I was just trying to save girlchase the time and expense of running into the agency for vouchers. It would be very easy for the agency to email or faz one to her. It would be alot easier for everyone when the next time she in in the area for a job/gosee/audition she could stop by the agency to run up for vouchers. I understand why agencies do not hand out blank vouchers to everyone they "sign with." The turnover is huge and after a few gosees many moms/kids decide this is not for them. They know the kids who do book their parents will follow up with the agency for triplicate vouchers for future bookings. It is a learning experience and we have all been there.

2starz! you're the one who went back and forth with me in the thread about Benetton. wow at least I see I'm not the only one who pointed out how rude and sarcastic you are when you type on this board. Roll Eyes As long as she had a voucher by the day of the booking, she would have been OK. There's nothing wrong with a faxed or emailed voucher. For my child's highest paying job, the voucher was emailed to us, and we were paid just as we were paid for any other job. We got to keep a copy for ourselves and one to give to agent because they made a copy for us on set. Only reason I would make a trip to Manhattan for vouchers was if the agent couldnt get it to me any other way.

Original posters concern....

quote.."My daughter was signed , but never given vouchers as I see others have mentioned receiving @ interview. She has been requested and placed on hold. I've sent an email regarding the permit/vouchers etc.. but to no avail. What will happen if she is booked without being in receipt of this information? Again...Obviously she was trying to reach her agent to no avail and as newly signed talent SHE felt it was important.

It's amazing how responders have lost sight of the original post (just as you did WillyKid with Bennetton if you go back and read your rude replies)and have chosen to twist and attack my response because I recommended she contact the agent who resolved her issue. This board is a resource....her agent is the source!!
