I am going to the Kiddin Around Talent Agency evaluation meeting with my 9 month old. I sent pictures in and received a phone call inviting me to this. I have to pay $35 for the meeting. Is that normal? Also, does anyone else have experience with them or is anyone going? Thanks!

Do not pay for an evaluation. There should never be an up front cost. I know nothing about this particular agency however, reputable agencies do not charge to interview children. Good luck with your pursuit!

Hi Annabel1008, I have a couple of things to add
although I am not familiar w/ this company, I have met a mom & her daughter (while here in NY
for the summer) who are w/this Atlanta agency. The mom said her daughter has booked several jobs through them. On the other hand I agree with Mom4, you shouldn't be charged for an
interview with ANY agency. I would call & ask the agent why you are being charged to be seen. You said it was called an "evaluation", if you're looking for feedback, you can submit her photos to any reputable agency & in most cases receive a response as to whether they can or cannot work w/ her. Also, if I see the other mom again while we're here, I'll ask her about the $35 fee. Have a great day!

I took my daughter to that evaluation, too. I also got a letter from Atlanta's Young Faces, and they ask for the same fee. From what I understand, they are both reputable agencies that work with big-name clients. They have been around for over 20 years. I haven't found anything to indicate this is a scam.

Hi! Did you attend the parenting class tonight for Kiddin Around? We were there tonight. It seems to be ok. We also got accepted for Atlanta's Young Faces but I think we are going to stick with Kiddin Around. What were your thoughts? Thanks! Anna

We have been with Kiddin' Around for two years. We were previously with another Atlanta agency. I too was hesitant about attending. However, after doing so, we received more information at the evaluation than we did from the previous agency that we were with more than a year. Even though I had been involved in the industry for a year, I decided to attend the parent's seminar that cost $115.00. I only wish that I had attended this seminar from the beginning because I learned so much about the industry and how it works which answers a lot of questions as to why my daughter hadn't been successful before. Right off the bat, my daughter was cast in a national commercial and she has made in the thousands of dollars. No complaints here! Would recommend them to any parents.

Please tell us the product of the "national commercial" your DD booked right off the bat -- I'm sure I speak for all the board posters when I say that we would all LOVE to see your DD's darling face on the tube so we can offer our congrats!! Wink

By the way, welcome to the board - I see this is your first post! Eeker

Ari,
We sent the pictures of our two children on Tuesday, on Wednesday my husband received a call from Kiddin Around. They invited us to evaluate both of our children this Saturday. I have been doing a lot of reading and feel a little scared of paying for them to be evaluated. We are submitting their photos to other agencies (the NY agencies).

Email me at aleya.sapp@gmail.com so we can chat about this directly. I really would like to bounce my findings off another parent who is in the same situation.

The $115 parent class is scary too. In the current times we dont have $190 to just give away. I want my questions answered first.

Hope to hear from you soon.
